Chocolate Peda

Chocolate peda

Happy Mahanavami everyone! Here’s me posting a yummilicious chocolate peda that happens to be a favorite of mine. I just love it and it’s too easy to make. Aarav went crazy with this peda, and had it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So try it out for your kids and they will ask for more. Guaranteed! 🙂 Do check  Mathrubhumi online for my other Mahanavami recipes.

Ingredients (Makes 20)

1. Butter – 6 tbsp, melted

Sweetened condensed milk / milkmaid – 1 can

Milk powder – 1.5 cups (I used Nestle dairy whitener)

    Cocoa powder – 3 tbsp

2. Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp

Method

Melt the butter in a wide non-stick pan. Add condensed milk, milk powder and mix well. Next add cocoa powder and mix well. Stir continuously for about 7 – 8 minutes at medium heat until the mixture turns thick and leave the sides of the pan. Cook for 1 more minute and switch off. Add the cardamom powder and mix well. Set aside until it is warm enough to handle. Grease your palm and shape into small balls. Flatten them slightly and make a dent in the centre (you can make any shapes you prefer). It keeps well for a few days at room temperature. Store in the fridge for a longer shelf life.
