Wishing you all a very happy and blessed New Year!
Ingredients ( Makes 15 – 17 cookies)
Recipe Courtesy – Divyas Cookbook
1. Maida / all purpose flour – 1 cup
Baking soda – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1 pinch
2. Sugar – 1/2 cup,powdered along with 4 cardamom
Cardamom – 4
3. Ghee – 1/2 cup,melted and cooled
Method
1.Preheat the oven to 325 F. Powder the sugar along with 4 cardamom. Sift or stir together the all purpose flour, salt and baking soda.
2. Add the melted ghee to powdered sugar and mix well to form a smooth paste. To this, add the all purpose flour mixture little by little and form a smooth dough. Rest the dough for 20 minutes. Grease your fingers with a little ghee and shape small balls of the same size, from the dough. Place them on an ungreased baking tray or a baking tray lined with parchment paper, press them slightly (you can decorate them with chopped nuts, if you wish) and bake for 20 – 22 minutes until the bottom of the cookies turn golden. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Serve hot with tea.
