Ingredients (Serves 2)
1. Idli – 5 – 6, quartered
2. Oil – 2 tbsp
3. Ginger – 1/2 tsp, minced
Garlic – 1/2 tsp,minced
Onion – 3/4 cup, cut into large cubes
Bell pepper, green, orange or yellow – 1/2 cup, cubed
4. Salt – As required to taste
5. Spring onion – 1/4 cup, chopped
6. Chilly garlic sauce or chilly sauce – 1 tbsp
Soy sauce – 2 tsp
Tomato ketchup – 2 – 3 tsp
Rice vinegar – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1 pinch
Method
1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wide pan at medium-high heat. Fry the idli cubes for 3 – 4 minutes on all sides until golden brown. Transfer to a plate.
2. Add 1 tsp oil to the pan and fry minced ginger and garlic for a few seconds. Next add onion, bell peppers and saute for a few minutes. Add the sauces (ingredients numbered 6) and mix well. Finally add the fried idli cubes and chopped spring onion. Serve hot.
