Ingredients (Serves 4 – 5)
1. Green tomato – 4 – 6, medium, chopped
Onion – 1/2 – 3/4 cup, thinly sliced and chopped
Green chilly – 2 – 3, diagonally sliced
Curry leaves – A few
Grated coconut – 1/2 – 3/4 cup
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – To taste
2. Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Dried red chilies – 2, broken
Curry leaves – A few
Method
1. Combine all the ingredients numbered 1.
2. Heat coconut oil in a kadai / cheena chatti over medium heat. Splutter mustard seeds and fry dried red chilies. Add green tomato and coconut mixture. Bring everything to the middle of the kadai. Cover and cook for 1 – 2 minutes. Open the lid and cook for about 6 – 8 minutes until completely cooked and dry. Serve with rice and other side-dishes.
