Ulli Choru / Shallot Rice

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  1. Cooked rice (Kerala rosematta rice(kuthari choru) / jeerakashala rice) – 1.5 cup

2. Coconut oil / ghee – 1 – 1.5 tbsp

3. Shallots – 8 – 10, sliced

4. Curry leaves – A few

5. Turmeric powder – 1/8 tsp

6. Freshly crushed pepper – 1/2 tsp

7. Salt – To taste


Heat coconut oil over medium high heat and saute till shallots turn golden. Add curry leaves and turmeric powder. Cook for a minute. Add cooked rice, salt and mix well. Cook for a minute. Add crushed pepper and mix well.
