Baked chicken masala


1. Chicken drumsticks – 5

2. Ginger-garlic paste – 2 tsp

    Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

    Kashmiri chilly powder – 2 tsp

    Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

    Cumin powder – 1.5 tsp

    Chat Masala – 3/4 tsp

    Garam masala powder – 2 tsp

    Lemon juice  – 1 tbsp

    Yoghurt – 3 tbsp

    Black salt – 1/2 tsp

    Salt – To taste

3. Oil – 1.5 tbsp

4. Onion – 1/2 large, thickly sliced

    Green bell pepper – 1 small, thickly sliced

    Green chilies – 3


1. Combine all the ingredients for the marinade. Taste-check for salt.

2. Clean the chicken pieces and make a few gashes on the fleshy parts. Marinate it with the above marinade. Keep overnight or for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator.

3. Preheat oven at 375 F. Bake the chicken drumsticks for 35 – 40 minutes flipping once in between.

4. Heat 1.5 tbsp oil in a pan at medium-high heat. Add onion, green bell pepper, salt and pepper. Saute for 3 – 4 minutes. Add 3 whole green chilies and the baked chicken drumsticks with any juices from the pan. Roast the chicken pieces at medium or medium-high heat for 10 – 15 minutes on both sides until browned. Switch off. Serve hot with naan / pulao.
