Salmon Kebabs [Fish Recipes]

Fish kebabs

Ingredients (Makes  6 – 8 kebabs)

1. Salmon – Around 350 gm ( I used 2 frozen wild salmon fillets from Costco)

2. Ginger – 1 tbsp, minced

   Garlic – 1 tbsp, minced

   Bread crumbs – 1.5 – 2 tbsp

Cilantro – 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Mint leaves – 2 tbsp, finely chopped

   Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp

Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp

   Cumin powder – 1/4 tsp

   Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

   Chilly powder – 1/2 tsp

   Salt – To taste

3. Olive oil / vegetable oil – 1.5 tbsp or as required to pan fry

4. Bamboo skewers – 6 – 8, soaked in water for 30 minutes

Method

1. Grind salmon pieces in a mixie or food processor to a coarse mixture (don’t grind to a paste). Transfer it to a large bowl and add all the ingredients numbered 2. Mix well. Grease your palms and press the mixture on to a skewer. If the patty does not stick to the skewer, add more bread crumbs and mix well.

2. Heat 2 tbsp oil at medium heat. Fry the prepared raw salmon kebabs on all sides, until golden brown and done, about 8 minutes. Remove the salmon kebabs from oil and serve with cucumber raita, green chutney or yoghurt sauce.

Yoghurt sauce

Greek yoghurt -  1/2 cup

Mint leaves – 2 tbsp, finely chopped

Cumin powder – 1 pinch

Chilly powder – 1 – 2 pinches

Salt – To taste

Olive oil – 2 tsp

Combine all the above ingredients in a small bowl. Serve with salmon kebabs.
