Naranga Thayiru / Curd Lemon

 

Easy and super yummy dish with lemon..

Lemon in curd / Curd Lemon/ Lemon raita

Ingredients (Serves 4)

1. Lemon – 1, stem-cooked or boiled for 10 minutes or until soft
2.Yoghurt – 1/2 cup
Green chili / birds eye chilli – 1 – 2, sliced into thin rounds
Coconut oil – 2 – 3 tsp
3. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Dried red chilies – 2, broken
Curry leaves – A few
4. Shallots – 2, thinly sliced
Ginger – 1/2 tsp, thinly sliced
5. Salt – To taste

Method

  1. Cut the steamed / boiled lemon into small pieces. Combine it with yoghurt, green chili and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a small pan. Splutter mustard seeds and fry dried red chilies and curry leaves. Fry for a few seconds and add shallots and ginger. Cook till shallot turns light golden. Pour this seasoning over the curry. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes. Serve with rice and other side-dishes.
