Ingredients
1. Potato – 1 large, cubed
2. Carrot – 1 medium, cubed
3. Fresh Beans – 1/2 cup cut into small pieces
4. Green peas – 1/2 cup frozen
5. Cauliflower – 4 – 5 florets, cut into small pieces
6. Ginger – 1/2 inch, thinly sliced
7. Onion – 1/2 of medium, sliced
8. Whole spices – Cloves – 5, Cinnamon – 1/2 inch, Cardamom – 3, Black pepper corns – 8
9. Green chilies – 4 – 5, slit
10. Salt – to taste
11. Turmeric powder – a pinch
12. Thick coconut milk – 3/4 – 1 cup
13. Curry leaves – 1 sprig
14. Coconut oil – 1 tbsp
Method
1. Cook all the vegetables, ginger, onion, whole spices, slit green chilies, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt in little water or thin coconut milk.
2. When the vegetables are cooked , reduce the heat, check for salt and add the thick coconut milk.
3. Finally add the coconut oil and mix well.
Serve this with appam / idiappam/ chapathis etc. Happy cooking:)
I would any day prefer the non veg version of this but the picture looks absolutely yummmy im definitely making appam and stew this week sometime..

I think you forgot to mention When to use the whole spices.
Add it along with the vegetables…I have mentioned it in the method.
