Ingredients (Serves 4 – 5)
Jeerakashala rice / kaima rice / matta ari – 1 cup, rinsed well
Grated coconut – 3/4 cup
Fenugreek seeds / uluva – 1/2 tsp
Shallots – 5, roughly chopped
Green chilies – 2 – 3, chopped
Curry leaves – A few, torn
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Salt – To taste
Coconut oil – 2 tsp
Water – 2 cups (If you are using matta rice, use 2.5 cups of water)
Method
Add all the above ingredients in a pressure cooker. Pressure cook for 1 whistle (3 whistles for matta rice). Set aside for 10 – 15 minutes or until pressure releases. Open the lid, mix gently and serve hot with beef roast, chicken roast or any spicy dish of your choice.
